A GREEN PACT PRODUCED BY STUDENTS DELIVERED TO ATHENS MAYOR

A Green Pact produced by students delivered to Athens Mayor

A group of students from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens handed over to the Mayor of Athens, Prof. Haris Doukas, the Green Pact for Athens with policy proposals for mitigating climate change, adapting to its effects as well as horizontal issues of information, awareness, and education. The Pact was produced by 60 students who participated in the Climate Change Assembly within the ARSINOE - Climate Resilient Regions framework through the Systemic Solutions and Innovations (Horizon 2020) program. The students worked in groups, recorded the existing actions, and formulated specific proposals for reducing energy consumption, the circular economy, transport, infrastructure, vulnerable groups, etc. Prof. Emmanuela Doussi, Dr Othon Kaminiaris, and PhD candidate Ion Vallianos accompanied the students at the Town Hall.
